Whether you’re looking for activities for younger children or your tweens and teens, there’s something for everyone. With plenty of fun activities, from sporty holiday camps to family-friendly events to keep children and young people entertained. And with many of them free or low-cost, they won’t break the bank.
Here are just some of the highlights:
- MCR Active’s Summer of Sport with multi-sports camps and activities at leisure facilities across the city, including - squash, swimming, gymnastics, tennis, athletics, water sports, basketball and BMX.
- Free swimming for young people under 16 during school holiday public swim sessions
- Bikeability at Boggart Hole Clough, with guided rides, workshops, and activities for all ages
- Exhibitions in our museums, including a new display dedicated to Lily Parr, one of football’s first female superstars, the Little Suffragettes trail at the People’s History Museum, and Manchester Museum’s newest exhibition, Wild, exploring our relationship with the natural world
- The Blue Peter Book Club Badge Trail - a trail to locate the 12 Blue Peter badges hidden across the city and be in with a chance of winning a set of the Blue Peter Book Club books
We also run a free holiday club programme for children on benefits-related free school meals – with thousands of FREE places for children's activities over the school holidays. In addition to the activities, each booked place will include a FREE meal during the day.
