Important changes to Bee Network child tickets

Please see information below from TfGM regarding important changes to Bee Network child tickets -

From Sunday 23 March ‘tap and go’ contactless will be the quickest and easiest way for full fare paying adults to pay for bus and tram travel and automatically get charged the best value fare, up to a daily and weekly cap. Children’s tickets will not be available on tap and go. As such, tap and go will not be available on TfGM school bus services to protect children from accidentally buying adult price tickets with contactless.

To help with this change and to make things easier for children, we are making the child single hopper ticket available on the Bee Network app, adding to the range of other child tickets on the app.

· Children can continue to buy child tickets on the bus with cash or contactless. They should always ask the driver for child fare before tapping the bus card reader (to avoid getting charged the adult tap and go fare).
· Download the Bee Network app to buy child single hopper bus tickets from 23 March, alongside a range of other child tickets.

· When using a TfGM pass like an igo card or Our Pass, be sure to keep passes separate from bank cards when tapping, to avoid your bank card being charged.
