We just love shapes!

Date: 30th Mar 2025 @ 11:59am

This week, we have been learning about 3d shapes and have used 2d shapes to make them. We have been identifying, naming and sorting the shapes and then using the correct mathematical vocabulary to describe them. It has been tricky, however as the week as progressed the children have become better and better at describing thier properties.

The children used sentence stems and the hard to read and hard to spell words from the working wall to help them.

This is how they described their shapes.

This is a cube. It has 6 square faces. It has straight sides  and It has vertices.  It has squared cornered vertices. It has no sharp points.

They found 3d shapes in the environment and talked about the shapes that they could see in school and at home.

Have a lovely weekend
