Rights Respecting Newsletter

In July 2024, Ravensbury Community School was awarded the Bronze Rights Respecting Award. This means that our school is committed to learning about Children’s Rights. We are the Ravensbury Rights Respecters (The Three Rs). Our task is to teach the children, staff, parents and carers about Children’s Rights as we embark on our journey to earn the Silver Rights Respecting Award.

This year, we have taught all children about the ABCDE of Rights during Friday
assemblies, learnt about our Rights during PSHE lessons and have created class and playground charters. The adults have also received training about Children’s Rights.

We now plan on updating our school website with Children’s Rights, and linking them to each of our curriculum pages. We will also have our very own class blog where we will post a ‘right of the week’ every week.

We are also planning special rights celebration days, where we hope adults at home can join us in celebrating our rights.
