Friday 1st May

Date: 1st May 2020 @ 8:34am

Happy Friday Year 5!

We're finally into May - which is a month I always look forward to - it's mine and Livvi's birthdays this month! (not for a couple of weeks yet, but I'm already planning Liv's birthday cake!)

We'd love to see what learning you get up to at home today, and remember to check back onto your class blog pages later to celebrate the fantastic work you've been doing this week!

So far both classes have 7 heart photographs! Let's keep that number rising everyone.

Good morning from Mrs Hodges!

The final Sentence of the Day for this week is based on a different YouTube video. I'd like you to have a watch of "Dessert in Space" - I think the chocolate pudding looks pretty good!

Then here's today's sentence - check back later to see my purple pen!

Hi from Miss Wendt!

I can't believe it is May already! Even with our very different circumstances at the moment, I feel the year is flying. This week in particular has gone very quick. I think what I've enjoyed the most is the number of children who are emailing the Y5 team - we have heard from lots of people this week, keep it up!

Here is the fluent in five for today:

Abass in 5HW made a request yesterday for some websites to visit for online learning (the kind of activities we sometimes use in class). I promised I would post the links today -

Good morning from Miss Brookes!

It's May at last! This year seems to have gone very quickly, despite being stuck at home. Can you believe that we've been off school for the whole of April? It's such a strange feeling.

Yesterday we had children email us with a photograph of the work from the home learning pack that they were struggling with. That was a great way to reacting to the problem - if you come across any work that you find tricky, email us and let us know what work it is, and then one of us will reply with some advice, or maybe even create a 'showme' video explaining it to you - I did one for Ivory yesterday when she came across a maths problem that was challenging. The same goes for parents - we're happy to answer any questions you have about your child's learning. Email away! Y5homelearning@ravensbury.manchester.sch.uk

Now, onto today's GVP. Today's lesson is a recap of Monday-Wednesday (we're continuing with adverbs of possibility next week, so I haven't included it today). Can you remember the three key themes?

Please email us with the area you found the most challenging over these last two weeks, so we can focus on it next week.
