Egyptian Pyramid Project!

Date: 15th Feb 2025 @ 1:44pm

On Friday, Year 3 spent the day completing a Design and Technology project.

Our design brief was: The first Pharaoh, Narmer, has tragically died. We need to design and build our own pyramids to bury him in and to show the Egyptians how their pyramids should be built. Remember our pyramids need to be as special as he was!

It was a very difficult project, because the pyramids needed to be self-supporting, strong, have an entrance, and traditional Egyptian features.

We spent the day practising how to fold nets, how to strengthen card and paper with laminating, corrugating and ribbing techniques, and designing our pyramids. In the afternoon, we begun to make our final pyramids.

Pharaoh Narmer would have been proud! The final pyramids were fantastic, and we were all very proud of our creations.
