DT Project - Wind Vanes

This week we completed our Design and Technology project all about Wind Vanes. We looked at how weather can be measured and started to look at wind vanes in more detail. We looked at their purpose and what they needed in order to show the wind direction. We discussed what an axle was and how it could be used to create a wind vane. We designed the top of our wind vane, made it and evaluated it outside in the playground. We quickly realised that the top of the design shouldn't be too large and the cup needed to be attached securly on the paper plate!
